When the United States of America tried to write off young Robert James Goodman, born in an Arkansas still reeling from Jim Crow, he wouldn’t allow himself to become a statistic. Here is a true story of what it took for one child to not only overcome the odds stacked against him, but to thrive in that world. Inspirational, interesting and beautiful, Unaware of Your Awareness is worth a read. Then buy one for someone you care about as well.

This book gives an insight on the life and studies of a very interesting man. He gives time stamps for many events that he lived through, that I have only read about in history books. A good quick read.

The title to his book is thought provoking, readers will be reminded that each individual can be what they want to be regardless of what society deemed one to be. Dr. Robert James is very transparent in his book about his upbringing and his humble beginnings. This is a must read with valuable resourceful information with loads of historical information. When times were really tough Dr. Robert kept focus on the man he has become and did not let his diagnosis of dyslexia determine his future, but to persevere. An enjoyable read.
